Inspiration

This is the second portrait of a friend, from photo.
Directed charcoal in large format.
The first drawing is softer (on bellow)
but I had in mind a more raw charcoal drawing.

Last Thursday, I was granted a day of fun just for me.
Time to draw and watch.
After making my file to my management center (ouf!) And no work in progress ....
it was a perfect day that started well.
Already in the train that took me to St Lazare, there was a wonderful singer and guitarist (rarely seen anyone of that quality) singing The Beatles us softly. To tell you, we had just arrived at the station and people stood before him, insistent to give him some things and greet.
In short, I felt the day "Happy"!
I decided to go see the exhibition of Henri Rousseau (who has just started at the Orsay Museum / before the crowd abounds in the coming months). The posters in the subway were so beautiful. The whole exhibition shows a naive painting after US and Mexican influence (Diego Rivera), admired by Apollinaire and Picasso in his time. the grand final room is superb, it is immersed in a fantasy jungle.
After the show, I joined the Louvre along the stage, and I decided to spend my afternoon drawing a drape (one of the subjects of my year-end drawing course) .I found a beautiful statue and I spent 3 hours in audience draw in a corner, quiet.
A delight to pose like that.
Then I run to the workshop for 3 hours of painting with a live model.

What a fantastic day !!
This happens so rarely.
